Husaberg ceased to exist in reality for model year 2013.. they are just blue KTM's with the move away from the 70 degree engine.

Yes that's a sarcastic joke. I looked at a new Royal Enfield and the badges on each side of the tank didn't line up with the other side.

I'm afraid you may be right about KTM's future, I hope not, let's hope a new Husqvarna will follow the KTM blueprint up to now. One good thing about this group that is supposed to be in negotiation to buy Husky is they own WP Suspension, so that would seem to imply that Husky's would us WP and maybe KTM would not going forward?

edit: I guess that's Cross industries that owns WP and according to the post below it is another company that will be buying Husky

"As we reported yesterday, the Brits at MCN got wind of Husqvarna changing hands, and all rumors pointed out to KTM as the big buyer. Well, it looks like the deal is actually closed with the signatures on the papers the only thing left... but KTM's CEO Stefan Pierer is the buyer.

Pierer and Indian giant Bajaj are the main shareholders of Cross AG, the company which owns KTM, but Husqvarna was bought by another of Pierer's companies, Pierer Industries AG. The links with Bajaj are of course, very strong and we might expect to see some Indian money invested in the future of the dirt bike brand.

The next six months will be dedicated to seeing how can Husvarna and KTM cooperate. However, a new Husqvarna model is expected in the last quarter of the year, at the 2013 EICMA. No word on this new bike being the
recently spied touring machine, though. We'll be watching Husqvarna closely this year... "

A couple of interesting points in this article:

Vienna/Eid. Stefan Pierer is good for a surprise coup. When the Indian automobile and two-Wheeler manufacturer Bajaj 2007 at KTM went, the KTM boss made headlines. Pierer, who is also the majority at KTM, has now turned to the spit: about his Pierer Industrie AG, he buys the Husqvarna's competitors. To the purchase price, he says of "Die Presse": "The Pierer has still never expensive bought." The previous owner BMW, paid 2007 EUR 93 million, when he acquired Husqvarna of the Italian MV Agusta.

The two companies have although formally separate owners, as "Brothers", they offer much synergy potential. The listed KTM belongs to 51 per cent of the cross industries, again to 25 percent of Pierer industry and belongs to 50 per cent of Pierer invest. "The motorcycle industry follows the trend in the automotive industry - several brands under one roof," said Pierer. Especially in research and development, but also in the procurement and production of components he seek a close cooperation between KTM and Husqvarna. The sales and the brand remain separate.

Whether the Husqvarna factory will stay long-term in Cassinetta at Varese (Lombardy), Pierer answered thus: "Austria will benefit in the long run more."

He already threw an eye on the once associated with the Swedish garden equipment manufacturer brand of motorcycle, Pierer said. Especially since the company specialized on off-road models ideal fit to KTM. BMW in turn focuses on street models, as well as on two wheelers (scooters) for urban - "urban mobility".

In sales, in the Upper Austrian mattighofen, Austria, KTM has already overtaken Bayern: sales rose last year to 32 percent to the record figure of 107.142 motorcycles. BMW sold 104.286 bikes. However, Bayern are in sales prior to KTM, the proceeds of which rose last year by 16 per cent to €610 million. The cooperation with Bajaj helped KTM once again to strengthen of its position in South-East Asia, where the market share is tenfold. But even in Europe, where the market to 12 percent decline, KTM has risen percent to a third on 7.5.

I presume you meant to say except for the Hondas that are made in Thailand and parts sourced from China.
