First pics: Metzeler ME888 (ME880 Marathon Successor)
So, I'd heard from a source that Metzeler's ME888 was about to be released. I decided to search for it today and found that it's already on sale, but there's no other news about it. WTF!?
On sale at Revzilla: ME888 New ME888: ![]() Old ME880: ![]() I am a big fan of the ME880--I rode a Goldwing all around the place on ME880s, and I like the way they look on show bikes. The ME888 tread looks busier, but still good to me.

I've done probably 100k miles on ME880 tires over the years. They were great on my cruiser, and are great on Goldwings. But they absolutely suck on my concours. I put up with them because they last 15-20k miles, but they sucked in the wet and were not confidence inspiring. But it was probably all just "in my head".
I did slip out numerous times in the wet but always managed to catch myself, perhaps those incidents is what caused the lack of confidence.
