Resetting the ECU

Seen that in the cbr.net forum. As the CBR shares the same engine, that should work for us too.

After installing a third party engine mod, like an exhaust, some have noticed less performance indeed.
The reason is the ECU should learn again with the new parts.

One method is to disconnect the battery for half an hour. Seems to works for some.

The other is a little more hocus-pocus, also found on the CBR forum
Here, with all disclaimers of my part http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLADC22B31F01F0745
(-remove ECU for 5 min -run the engine -jump blue to green wires on DLC (red plug w/ cap) -jump yellow-blue to green-white on ECT sensor plug)

Tried the battery disconnect method, but didn't see so much difference.
Maybe i will test the hocus-pocus trick when im bored ..

The mechanics in the video don't hesitate to bang the engine right up against the rev limiter. If it was my bike I'd have to bang a basball bat right upside his head!!
