Question Online Parts

Hey guys,
KTM 450 EXC rider here, Shes an 06 and just the other day a noticed a fork seal leaking quite a bit, pulled one shock (help of a mate )down and sure enough every thing is worn. I looked in my spares book and found part number
"R14013" Its a repair kit for the front forks.
Anyway I live in Australia, so I tried an Australian site. http://www.ktmpartsonline.com/revset...-48mm-ktm-2006

They want 375$. :(

So I looked around and found this
https://www.ktm-parts.com/R14013.html#.UQzNRvJBGHN

For 115$

Now is it just me or am I missing something?

Cheers

Not missing anything.

You have just been bent over and reamed by KTM Australia.

Keep in mind many USA based KTM dealers will not ship direct to Australia, you will need a USA based address (like www.shipito.com).

If you do find a dealer who will deal direct, keep it quiet.

You can find cheaper than that as well.

Munn Racing or partspitstop.com are cheaper.

With the forks, why don't you just get somebody here to service them?

I havnt brought them yet, but I can say That ill be buying them from the American online store.

I just want to have a go at doing them myself, cheaper than a shop and its another thing ill know how to fix on my bike.

Its hard to believe the price difference isnt it!!

Dont bother buying from KTM america they will go out of their way to delay the shipment if they know your from another country trust me.
I have a shipitto account and they must know because i could have made the parts out of soil faster. A waste of time.

Seals are cheap , like bearings they are almost always universal and there are good quality seals on ebay for 30 bucks .
Ktmpartsonline AU are great to deal with just ring them up and they will give you a real price.
You've got a great bike their BTW, keep the oil changed every 500 with Full syn and check the filter after every ride and it'll last you a long time.

Hey, Parts pit stop is amazing Thanks so much!

Just wondering do I need a repair kit for each fork? or does 1 kit do both?

Cheers

Hey Thanks for the input. Thats a bit of a turn off if they are going to make me wait for so long, its just sooooo much cheaper.

Thanks for the comments about the bike, couldn't be happier with her, nothing fancy like the new bikes but you cant beat a good solid reliable bike.

So do i need 2 repair kits or does 1 do both?

While I do linke to support my local bike shop (or at least did until the old crew sold their shop recently) I am not impressed with what I consider a massive ripoff by the Aussie KTM importer.

There is no explanation I can think of that would justify prices 50-100% higher. I think they've just no woken up to the fact yet that people can & will source the stuff cheaper. I do that all the time and will continue to do so until the guys stop treating us like idiots.

End of rant.
