quick steel and screws
The bracket that supports/guides the front brake line has come loose from the shock tube. The holes that the guide screws to are stripped. I am pretty sure that the stripped holes are plastic and they are not that deep. I was planning on filling the holes with quick steel and then twist in the screws while its still pliable. The screws have a fairly fine thread.
Anybody have a better way to get this done? |

I've never had a ton of luck with those methods, you need to remove the screw later, and there's just not enough "meat" to hold a thread.
Usually I would rather insert a small length of threaded rod with some form of adhesive to keep it in place, then use a lock nut to hold the bracket. |
