Touring and Camping in Kenya

Well it's been just over seven months since I picked up my KTM 990 SMT and it's been awesome. I lost one month travelling and another month recovering from a dislocated elbow and a fracture in the other arm, after being hit broadside. However, in the five months of actual riding time, I just turned over 10,000 KM last week and I thought I'd share a little of my two favorite pastimes - riding and camping - joined into one very special and most enjoyable part of my life. I may share some of the stuff that has happened over the past seven months, but for now, I'll just begin with this past weekend.

I headed out of Nairobi Sunday morning for a one nighter to the nearby Lake Naivasha taking a scenic route, including a look out over the Rift valley, to stretch the one hour ride a little.



I set up camp at the wonderful Lake Naivasha Resort...



and then headed over to the equally wonderful pool to relax a little.



I was joined by a bunch of locals...



who clearly knew how to relax.



It was a great couple days and a wonderful night, under the stars and acacia trees, at one of my favorite nearby campsites.
