New plastic tank "bubbles"
I just received the Safari tank I ordered for my Husky and looking over it, I noticed that the entire underside has these small bubbles in the plastic:
![]() ![]() Any thoughts? Is this pretty standard on some of these plastic tanks? I assume it's OK, but not what I like to see on a tank of this cost. Thanks,

thats from their molding process. I would send some pictures to them directly.
I would assume they do a leak test on all there tanks and functionally should not be an issue but I would expect better for my money! |

Just installed a Safari on my 630. It is white, but I don't think mine has the bubbles...
I'd send them pics as mentioned above.

In my and for the most of the OC forum. The safaris have alvvays had an less good finish. They are tough, carry fuel as they should. But fit and finish suck.

Thats porosity from a molding process, I would be very surprised if thats the norm.

Thanks for the replies!
Unfortunately, this is the second tank I've received due to issues. The first (white one) had issues with the fuel pump mounting area: ![]() The inside edge was trimmed very close to the threaded insert plus it had that bad mold area that I was concerned would cause problems with the fuel pump mounting flange gasket. I spoke with the vendor and they shipped out another tank PDQ (red was the option). ![]() The white one does not have any of this porosity issue, and the red tank only has it on the bottom. Here's a shot of the top: ![]() I hate to keep going on and on with this but for a $700 tank, I'd expect some QC.... I'll call the vendor tomorrow and see what the lead time is on a new batch of tanks. BTW, I wasn't sure if Clark, IMS, Acerbis or other tanks might have had this issue occasionaly?

I agree completely. It's a lot of cash to spend and have a so-so quality looking tank.
I think you could bring it to their attention and see what they do. Heck, they might even give you some money back...
