Thanks for stringing us along. j/k

...and now we're dying to know. What's your electrician's phone number? We need to get to the bottom of this.

If he gave away all his secrets, he'd be out of a job!

I've also seen bathroom and outside GFCI receptacles feeding kitchen loads and vice-versa. It's not supposed to be that way, but it's more common than you think. Might be a good place to look, anyway.

So you've been to my house?

The GFCI in one bathroom, 25' away, is tied to the master bath! Idiots. They didn't cost that much, even in 1987 when the house was built.

For the record, my place us a hodge podge of wiring. I've hit switches that are hit that font control anything. I've got a two way switch in the laundry room that only goes one way. The power for some kitchen lighting us tapped off the laundry room lighting.......the weirdness goes on and on.

Just talked to the electrician. He traced the problem to the wiring in the panel. There was a kink that had finally gave way and broke. It is all solid wire so fatigue did it. We gave been in and out if this panel rewiring and doing repairs so it got fatigued and finally broke. That's why my tracing tone didn't work.

Only cost me $75
