I think it depends on your flying level. I was at the point where I can fly decently with SL on, but in full acro I still struggle.

1.6++ gives you a mix of both - it's in SL mode when sticks are centered, and in acro mode when sticks move further from center. There are three settings to choose from depending on how heavy you want the SL. So for good fliers, you can now do flips and then return directly to SL for stability.

For me it means i can do proper banked turns in my figure 8's that I couldn't do with SL on, but I get the security of SL if I get going too fast or lose orientation. It also makes the progression from SL to acro easier.

If you are a really proficient flyer in acro mode, then I suspect you won't find much different.

So exponential acro. Neat! I didn't play with the settings, but will take a look at them now based on your input.

Thanks

Must be part of your super-secret double-naught spy work with your low-level FEMA clearance and (snicker) Texas Security License, yes?

Where did you download from? I know on rcgroups on the first page of the KK2.0 thread there are some links.

I wish I had a decent computer to support the drivers. I had to use a work laptop for the 1.5+ upgrade.

I think the last update I did I was able to choose from a list in the updater program and it went out and got the software for me. There was an option to grab the files locally, but I don't think that's what I did.

Here's a link to the 1.6 ++ thread. There are a few revisions now I believe

OK...

Went in and setup the 1.6++ on my Tricopter. Wow!!! You were right, huge difference. Behaves much more like an acro until you center the sticks then it goes full SL!

New lost model alarm and multiple mixes for SL.

Excellent find...Thanks!

Well hell. I got mine today and spent an hour or more binding it to my DX6i. Apperantly I have lost 80% or son of my hand/eye coordination. She's pretty danged stable once ya get a good GPS lock. And, I need more room.

Nothing broken yet though.

Check your props! There have been numerous accounts of props breaking at the hub. Crappy design and/or manufacturing process. I'll be checking mine in a few minutes.

So yeah, pursuing a master's degree in "integrated geospatial technology". Which means I basically geek the fuck out over anything involving aerial imagery or things with GPSen.

Which makes this the perfect hobby for me.

Looking to get started with something to loft a small handheld camera or along that lines. Really want something that can fly totally autonomous.

Really liking this: http://store.3drobotics.com/products/iris

Heard really good things about 3DR's APM autopilot, and the pixhawk looks even better.

Thoughts? Am I in way the fuck over my head? Will chicks totally dig it?

I was thinking about that last night as I was hovering 6' from my head with the props at eye level...I thought....this probably isn't the best idea I've ever had.
