Not sure if I saw it on here or not, but there was a plane that flew 25k or so away and back. The guy was using the FPV set up.
Thought it was pretty cool.
Well maybe not 1000 feet then.
I think its cool when someone fly's high enough to see the horizon or kilometers into the country/city from where they are flying.

Just dooo-it

Man, I am right on the flight path for the big airport here. I'd say some of these planes are at 1500 to 2000 feet altitude. I see trouble in my future!

I fly 1.7 miles south of the threshold and 1300 feet west of Centennial Airport's 35R centerline, the nation's 3rd busiest GA airport.

I also fly at work which is 1.6 miles south of the threshold and 700 feet east of the same runway at the same airport.

I did receive an email from the airport manager saying I could fly within these distances as long as I keep out of the way.

She passed the hover test. I'll fly at lunch or after work.

hey guys, any thoughts why I keep nose diving coming out of fastish turns. this is on a KK2 1.6++.

Do I just need to get more finesse on my elevator - sometimes i have to go full elevator in order to avoid hitting the ground though. And I'm not really flying those corners all that fast - not compared to what i see you guys do...

It also gains altitude easily - that's usually a sign of P gains too high - but they are only at 35 - that's pretty low... I gain at around 10 or 15.

Any advice?

Mine do something similar so I just blip the throttle and pull a little elevator.

Have you played around with the height dampening settings in the KK?

Yay! 3DR IRIS arrived late last week. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play with it until today.

Ran it through the Altitude, Loiter, Stability, and Return To Landing modes and everything worked great, right out of the box.

Spent the last couple hours playing with the Mission Planner software. GoPro gets here in a few days.

In theory, this counts as schoolwork. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself....

Yes. I know to blip throttle and elevator - but that's not helping - even when i go to full elevator.

I increased height dampening from 10 to 30 with no effect. Then broke the frame so couldn't go higher. Is dampening one of those things you move in increments of 5, or more like 20 and go over 100?

Good question. I haven't messed with mine. Have you gone on this KK thread?

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1675613

Or this 1.6++ specific thread/blog?

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1899326

I wish I had an easy answer for you. I will check my settings tonight. I believe they're still stock. Though, my settings may only help if our multis were the same or very similar.
