We rescued one about 35 years ago from a farmers paddock he had just left it and it hair was all tangled and its hoofs had grown real long and curled up, He said just take it before i shoot it ,, My sister cleaned it up and we filed it hoofs down it looked real nice , we fattened it up ,, Then one day, months later i was feedin it from a bucket and it lifted it head and sunk its teeth into my chest and wouldnt let go , It was as mean as cats piss , Always wary of Shetland ponys

Thanks for this post. I always travel with my dog, Pugsley as my pillion buddy. Amazing how many adventures we've had, and the joy he has added to my travels.
A few years ago in Montana, Pugsley chased a couple of wild horses near Dryhead, then they turned around and started chasing him. He walked out into a lake and stood there until I rescued him. He no longer bothers horses.
