The price on that forum says...

R1200 for tent and r900 for the tarp. What does that mean?

Have you thought about the negative aspects of sleeping that close to your bike? With this shelter, you've basically attached a kite to the bike. I would be very worried about it falling over on me. Just something to think about if you hadn't considered it already.

I don`t know that particular tent, but try these identical tents
http://www.khyam.co.uk/detail.asp?p=1214&product=Pocket Tent Duo
http://www.khyam.co.uk/detail.asp?p=1213&product=Pocket Tent Mono

A couple of ski/walking pole could be used to support the ridge lines

Those look promising and cheap. Looks like a mesh roof would need to be added along with a fly.

If you read the specs it is a dual skin tent, so I don`t see where you need to add a mesh roof.
Though a tarp may be an ideal addition to act as extra living space.
Also anyone using their bike as support may have to consider the situation that once the tent is up and your using the bike as support, what do you do if you want to leave the tent and ride out on the bike for supplies etc

I read the specs and looked at the pics. Hard to tell if the inner has any mesh. There should be mesh on the top 1/4 or so near the head with the fly over the whole thing. Looks like the fly is permanently attached and you'd need something to cover the top at the entry.

As to riding with it left behind, prop up the ends with walking poles, canes, sticks or tie it off near two trees.

Hey it's mine!

I am the creator of the tent. Fire away at any questions.

1. Yes, it does have a mesh at the top of the tent. To allow for ventilation and prevent condensation.

2. It does have a second skin which is only pulled over the tent setup as an OPTIONAL in case of rain.

3. Yes, you can secure your bike to ensure it doesn't fall on you. Common sense prevails.... nuff said.

4. I have also copied a D-tarp design and it makes quite a nifty setup. I will try and add photos.
