And right about then is where it got insane. The next twenty miles to Zaragoza produced the two best lines of the trip. Both by Rick.

Well. At least when I wreck, I won't have to ride this damn motorcycle.

Well. When I wreck I'm just gonna light my bike on fire and wait for help.

Brothers and sisters. Be ready for this section if you go from San Antonio de Pena Nevada to Zaragoza. It is a championship length fight. You think it is over and there's always another round.

Not many pics by Rick or I. We were mentally preparing ourselves to die. I know the boys have a least a couple.

Day 7. Dash to the border through Galeana and Linares and Montemorelos.Kickstands up at 7:00. Back down 5 seconds later. Justin's KTM wouldn't crank in 33 degree weather and Rick had two flats. Yup. Two. And a burned out headlight. And a broken tail light. And a broken Jesse topbox rack (from jumping topes, I'd guess. He got to where he was getting good air. ;) ). This was the day that all the mechanical issues hit us and a hay bale almost took me and Aaron out. Yup. Just outta Montemorelos a compact truck with one bale too many was in front of us. Recognizing the danger I wicked it up to stay for as short a time as possible in the pinch zone.

Slight right hand corner uphill was enough to dislodge the bale which slid off the truck, somersaulted and landed directly in front of my front wheel. According to Rick it was a direct hit and I exploded the hay bale like something in a movie. Hay got everywhere. I will just have to take his word for it. My eyes were closed. I knew I was going down. When I didn't my first thought was "Damn. I'm sure glad that guy couldn't bale hay."

And more importantly to our KTM riders, what determines where a Pemex goes?

4 for 10,000 people in Jalpan. Pemex across the street from a Pemex at least twice on the trip. Pemex within a mile of another Pemex. And then 100 miles and nada.

Soon as can I wrestle the nephews out of their pics we will fill in some gaps. Most of the pics are Rick's. He had a real camera and the ability to use a camera. I had neither. Many thanks to him. Most of the gaps came when the road was the best/worst and that best/worst determination my friends...well, it is all about perspective. lol

When they placed the sign there were 3 school kids and a burro walking in the road just around the bend
