Question about a trade?

I am considering tradeing my 1985 Aspencade with Motortrike conversion for a 1985 NightHawk with a Cozy Rocket sidecar. Any insight on this type of setup. Any information would be greatly appreicated

I had a 84 nighthawk 700 with a velorex.It was a good rig a little light but pretty peppy.

I would check over the mounting of the sidecar. Cozy sidecars come with "universal" type mounting hardware that people can be very creative about figuring out ways to make it work rather then just making proper mounts. You should be able to jump up and down on the bike and shake it hard with out seeing any movment in any of the mounting hardware. Even if you see no movment I would still have it checked out by some one who knows sidecar mounting.
BTW, we do free saftey inspections as I am sure many other sidecar shops do as well

The Nighthawks have a long good history and the sidecar is well known and fairly light weight. As Jay mentioned make sure the mounting is good and safe.

I do not no the value of your trike set up, but you might be putting yourself in a position to spend some money sorting the sidecar out.

I'm going to have to make sure that I do not bite off more than I can chew mechanically speaking . I am looking toward to owning a hack but I know my own mechanical skill and financial limits. That being said I am on pins and needles waiting on a meeting time.

I went and did it! After checking it out and having a mechanically astute friend check it out also, I made the trade. Registered nice and legal. All set to have new tires put on in the morning. Here is the best photo I have so far, when I have her new shoes on I'll post a few better ones. Been around town on a few short hops (running errands and such) but I am looking forward to spending the day out on the road getting to know her.

That doesn't look like a stock Cozy sidecar.

There is nothing on this that is a Cozy rocket. Looks like a home made frame, trailer fender, Velorex wheel, Perhaps a knock off of a Watsonian body or? What does the cap on the front of the sidecar say?

Not a Cozy. Like Jay said it is a velorex wheel. Frame is either home made or a modification of something. You may actually be ahead in the deal from having an actual cozy. Please post more pics when you can.
