The input shaft on the transaxle will be somewhat "loose" until it is supported by the bearing in the flywheel securing nut. The seal is easily changed out too... I'd do a little flywheel clearancing on that 6v transmission and use a self supprting Bosch starter SR-17 (no need to change the bushing) and run it until it doesn't run any more. These are fairly stout transaxles that are under stressed in a light vehicle like a buggy powered by a stock(ish) engine.

Going slow on this project... Too much other stuff going on..Life that is.

Just got my Transaxle back rebuilt from The Wright Gearbox.... ProStreet plus they call it.. SuperDiff, welded gears, converted to 12v surfaced the Bell housing opening for a 200mm Flywheel, 12v busing for the starter...(HD parts, Aluminum side plate on the Diff side) should be good to go..

Ideally I get this thing running in the month of August.. That is the goal and will post back pics and progress.

On the shop floor

In the truck coming home.

The Motor was $1700 and the Trans was $800....

all the miscellaneous will put me over which is OK... I was going to re-build the whole front suspension but will wait on that.. Will be installing Front Disc brakes as the Drums are virtually worthless.. Stopping is an important part of "Driving" and to be taken seriously.... Stopping poorly can leave one in bad spot...

Brake kit from So Cal Imports.
