One of the factory bikes from 1967. This one was ridden by Dick Hammer and was leading the race when it quit on one pot.
Note the shop rag in front of the seat. Hammer placed it there so he could use it during the race to wipe off his goggles.The bike dropped a cylinder when it sucked the rag into the intake.
He pitted and the crew got the bike going again but, Hammer crashed later.

Thanks again for posting this video. I've watched it a half dozen times already. Quick question, my literature says they went from a Chevy Corvaire oil cooler to the larger VW cooler after the '66 year as well as moving the right exhaust back to the right side for '67. (The #1 bike of Percy Tait has the larger VW cooler). But from the Nixon replica bike in the video (1:32) it looks like he is still running the Corvaire cooler? Am I mistaken which year they switched oil coolers?
EDIT: The other Nixon #9 at 2:03 is also running a VW cooler.
