I ride both and I do not understand why you think it takes a minimal amount of skill to operate an ATV? Why were 3 wheelers banned if they required so little skill? I actually find riding my 47" ATV down 50" trail just as challenging as riding any bike down single track. Of course I am not the corn field riding donut spinning type of rider either. Point is I have seen idiots do stupid things out on the trail no matter what they were riding. Not any more from one group or another.

In general, I think motorcycles are more stable on pavement, and quads are more stable on dirt. I have always thought it would be cool to have one built for the street, and apparently so have other people. A quick Google Image search turned up some cool pics:

I like the concept of riding one of those on the street but do not see the fun in it? I guess it's just to similar to driving the car.
