Are you sayin to remove the lower race from the stock headtube on the frame and remove or add a shim? Thanks for replyin

I'll look some more. The only place I tried to find used ZA50 sidecovers was at mopedjunkyard.com. They have tons of E50 sidecovers, but they don't have the right side one that fits around the ZA50s rectangular engine cover.

wow. Just awesome. I grew up riding those in the Netherlands. We would throw 70cc kits on them and cops would chase us around on them throughout our neighborhood. Good Times. Then I upgraded to a Honda MT5

I see. Didnt realise there was a diffrence I have never had a za. Puchshop worth a try they have a lot of interesting and rare parts. Martin aka Ypv breaks used bikes too so if he has a bike in with a za he might have a set. Maybe 50cc.nl too

See the difference in the right side of the ZA50 engine. Puch made special sidecovers to fit around them, and they are rare. The ZA50 is rarely ever modded, it has a reputation for being fragile. But mine has carried me up many steep grades with it's 2 hp, where a 125cc CVT scooter with 8+ hp won't go, because of it's super low first gear. I never tried to climb serious hills with an E50, so I don't know how that would work. I do have a really nice 300 mile E50 engine stored in the closet, that I got from a guy named Harry Hoppe, who posts on MA. I figured I'd use it if the ZA50 transmission ever blew up.

I'm getting my little 50cc 2 hp Puch moped ready for a trip from Chandler up to the Forest Lakes area. It'a only about 140 miles, the catch is it's all uphill, from 1000 feet to over 8000 feet. My 125 scooters won't do it. I've done it before on the Puch with no problems. It will be slow going, 10-12 mph, so it's a 2-3 day trip. But that little engine will be spinning near top speed all the way. This thing has GEARS. I will have a rescue arranged in case the 33 year old moped breaks down.
