man, you got me interessted in these bikes...
but by looking at the prices for the used ones here, they are VERY expensive for a bike their age.
is there something special about them?

ahh yes the number in Europe are quite low and at quite high prices but they hardly lose value now they actually put on value, my father baught a CBR 400R NC29 in 1997 for £2500 first UK owner and if you get one exactly the same now will c ost you the same amount. plus they handle amazingly the 400's didn't make huge power but they had chassis that would out do the engines easily, one thing my dad regrets is changing to a CBR600F after the 400 as it didn't handle half as good it had the power but not the chassis.

if you get a VFR 400R NC30 you also get the mini RC30 good looks, the official German and French NC30's came with larger headlights but are easier to register in europe to meet requirements.

yeah that is very expensive especially as its a non standard colour bikes that have been resprayed or fitted with chinese fairings don't fetch as much as a original colour mine was €1600 equivelent in original fairings. I know there are a few in Germany if that helps.

hopefully it actually becomes spring this weekend going back home to pick her up will get a proper feel of the bike as its a 100 mile ride back to Oxford from Peterborough I do plan if the roads are quiet to do a high speed run and see how much the engine has got to offer, currently looking to get UKDM mirrors and coming up with nothing which is a shame.

the NC35 isn't a VFR its a RVF apart from the fairings there are other design changes how the engine was bolted to the frame and the single side swingarm was made simpler for cheaper production costs but means you can't fit a HRC rear suspension kit as it has some parts missing in its construction for this.

I have owned a 50cc scooter when I was 16 a Yamaha jog RR on a 09 plate then in 2011 I got a 11 plate Rieju Marathon Pro 125 SM which I currently still own until it is Sold.

I can't wait to get a sports bike so I can start getting more miles underneither me with the added capacity and power, I plan to spend a week riding round the limousin region in the south of France this summer.

but for now I will post a picture of my next motorbike adventure which I've named Sarah she's a 1990 model in type 4 colours.

These are very cool bikes. They are considered 'grey market' bikes in Canada, which means any bike 15yrs old coming in from anywhere else other than the USA. There is a shop here in Vancouver that specializes in Japanese and Malasian bikes, bring in 2-3 container loads a year. Perhaps 5-10 VFR400's a year.

I'm extremely lucky to be the current caretaker of your bikes' 750cc uncle. This blood line of bikes are indeed true thoroughbreds!!

after riding 100 glorious miles of a few high speed runs i returned to Oxford and managed to run out of fuel 100 meters fromt eh petrol station haven't had to haul so much weight in a long time.

but here are the picture I took of fitting the new speedo face.

Also the plan for tomorrow is to ride to the iconic Ace Cafe in London with my neighbour.

I can see why you got a new speedo face. That other one makes my head hurt.

one of the most jewel-like bikes ever to roll out of a Honda factory

I saw one in red/black at Laguna Seca in the early 90's when I was there for AMA Superbike.
A grey market importer with a vendor booth quoted $8500. I had a '93 VFR at the time and was all about anything V4 from Honda.
They also had some other unobtanium for sale....NSR 250, RG400 Gamma...

I absolutely love this bike she's not perfect but saying that she is 23 years old this year but she'll happily cruise at high speeds with a stability I haven't experienced before, went to Ace cafe with my neighbour but forgot to get ace cafe decals so will have to make another trip sometime, just ordered a new set of NGK iridium Spark plugs as starting the bike feels abit weak to spark so hopefully new un-choked up plugs will resolve this.
Also got a little Metal Yoshimura exhaust decal do need a more performance orientated exhaust as the noise is very tame until 9,000 RPM but even then its quieter than my last bike which produced 110DB.
