Do not ask me I am doing this please. I must be drunk, but a new friend is wanting to put together a trike (we will all throw up later, ok) but I said I couldn't imagine a better bunch of people than you lot to help from scratch to finish. I know your expertise in general is superb.

I'll or we will wait for your info.

The person who says it cannot be done, should not interrupt the person doing it.

I'm game. What are you building? What are you starting with?

If you want, there's one prebuilt for $150 - though I don't know where.

It's vintage and a trike. I bet it handles awesome!

You need to go big. And shiney with lots of candy paint and chrome. Lots of hot chrome headers so you burn the snot out of yourself.
And then rethink the whole dumb idea.

Don't let these folks stop the idea before it even begins. Trikes are big fun and have many advantages. The only two disadvantages I can think of are that it aint a bike obviously and you can get in too deep if you choose to ride when you shouldn't. It's like this; if you try to ride a bike when yer hammered, you will likely find out it's a bad idea right there in the driveway when you fall over. On a trike, you will get all the way down town before the rude awakening sets in.
Some tips about trike design in general (I don't know what you will be starting the project with) are to pay attention to center of gravity with the chassis. You want the weight low and centered. You want independent suspension. Trikes can handle very well if done this way. I recommend using a car to start with rather than a bike. If you trike a bike, you will only be adding weight to the bike. Never a good thing performance wise. By using a car, you will be removing about 2/3 of the car's weight which will get you better mileage, effectively stiffen up the suspension and improve the weight to power ratio by 66% with no further engine mods. You will also be getting a bigger, better charging system.
I have more but heck, I'm not even sure you are serious.
My panhead...... I acquired it by trading a trike I built for it straight across.
