Too nice to get dirty! Built my DT1 and hated to get it in the roost.

Putter around day today... Yardwork now that things are starting to grow.
Found a brake arm at the local salvage yard that I can make work. Some were too long, others too short. I made this one work. Axle nut is going on Manyana... Margarita Time now!!!

The expert main I won didnt have any fast experts in it,I was out there on a lark as my roommate had decided to go racing that weekend.
I did make a point of passing him on his 500 Honda right as the photog snapped a pic.
I spent about 10 years racing every half mile/short track/indoor race/TT that I could get myself to.
Most fun Ive ever had, although I did 60 miles of gnarly singletrack today and now Im laying down for awhile. It was fun!

My 76 TT was kinda sketchy on a 1/8 mile blue groove short track, but then all I did was put a 19" ft wheel on my playbike and go race,it also had some engine work done that helped some.
I loved broadsliding my 72 200 Sherpa S,the TT was more prop it up with your knee and hug the tight inside line.

Hey, so what? you won !!. good on you!

I workout real hard to ride the hard single track, or I don't go till I do. It ain't fun unless you can put out hard for an hour plus before the first break.

SR 500 Frame for Flat-track?

There was an Industrial Accident on Monday...

The report would have read; "While attempting to harvest a swingarm from an old SR frame, a 6 lb maul "Bounced" after impact with the swingarm bolt and took out my middle finger". After numerous expletives in as many languages as I could come up with...

Back to work today. After letting the finger heal a bit, the frame loop got shortened and welded back on to work with the Knight seat.

Got the motor off the work bench and set in the frame. Tomorrow, the mounts and oil lines are getting cleaned up and installed.

Tank and seat are there to give me that "Oh Boy, I got something done" feeling. The back in getting sore working bent over...

I see you have a SR frame. I here the front end is better tuckin for flat track. With a raidiam swingarm you can have a real good scoot. Just a idea for you. Great built already. BIG ED XT 600 FAN!!!

Thanks!! Having a lot more fun with this build than the DT1. Parts are a lot easier to find!!

Long range plans include a Radian swingarm I have sitting in the garage. Hopefully have a raked TT frame or the SR frame ready at some point. The important part is to have the bike running for an open practice day on April 13th. Then I can work on a better frame stup. I was tempted to sacrifice my SR restoration frame, but I've put too much $$ into it!

Thanks for the comments and for tagging along Ed!!

Just about ready for the first "Light Off"!!!
Waiting on the K&N filters for the carb and the engine vent.
Raining today, so I don't want to chance sucking anything into the motor. Maybe Manyana...

Were did you get the Maxxis ?

I got to get down to Texas and get them to build a pipe for my race bike. They really work and have one hell of a bark ! I think sound testing is pretty close after you have run one for a while....

The seller listed Reno as his location.

Plan is to ride the practice day on the 13th and then both race days the next weekend. Just got an email from Joe Kopp stating that the race on Sat. the 20th will be a day race, not a night race as posted on their website.
Just hope we have good weather!
