Tony, how are we looking for a cooler count?? I dont know if we need another full of ice or not with the excessively hot temps that rider posted. If Iain is close (I think Bellevue) I could deliver a cooler to him if he has room full of ice if that would help? let me know. Looks like were good to go on camp stoves between you and Iain

I have three coolers. I will try to put the perishables in one and ice the other two. If you can meet us at the Renton BK @ 8:am I can haul most any gear needed.

So, do I have this right?

Sawmill Flats Campground sites; 10, 11, 12, and 13. Do y'all still have room for one more (truck, 2 man tent)?

I won't be leaving til noonish Sat. Figure I'll find the site while y'all are out riding, set up camp, start drinking.

Will bring: Truck, dog, cooler, BBQ, chicken, maybe some beans, a couple gal of water, ice. Anything else?

Hey, I may be singin' to the choir here, so if I am, just tell me to F@$k off.

Saw a blip or two about camping gear and water. Might want to think about riding gear too. Ya are heading up trails, in the woods, and these bikes can get you farther into the woods that you can walk in a few hours. Ya get seperated and break down, ya could get a free night camping in the woods alone. Hypothermia is the #1 killer in the woods in Washington. Sure, the weather report could be sweet, but weather can change quickly. Get blue jeans and a cotton t-shirt soaked by a freak weather change, then foul a plug, night falls, temps fall, and suddenly your body core temperature starts to drop and your screwed.

I throw some stuff in a day pack on outings like this, stuff that is pretty much what I'd take hiking, like the 10 Essentials (Mountaineers must-have's). So, I thought I'd post it. Yes, it does all fit in a day pack - if I can make it, I'll prove it!

Basic Riding Gear:
MX Helmet/Goggles or Sunglasses
Poly-pro t-shirt (no fucking cotton clothes in the woods!!!)
MX jersey
Cycling Shorts
MX Pants
Knee & elbow pads
Chest armor
Gloves
Poly-pro & Wool sox
MX Boots
Camel Back

Other Bike:
Tools/flat repair/spare tube/mtn bike pump
Spare spark plug/clutch lever
Tow rope

10 Essentials:
1. Map: Green Trails.
2. Compass: GPS can die.
3. Xtra food: besides what you are taking for lunch. Ie Power bars.
4. Xtra clothes: warm hat, fleece jacket, fleece gloves, rain jacket.
5. Knife
6. First Aid Kit
7. Matches
8. Fire Starter: Candle
9. Flashlight
10. Sunglasses: (ever burn your eyes? It really fucking hurts. Can you say ER?)

Etc:

Sunscreen
Bug repellent
Extra water or water filter – MSR 2L drom bag/MSR Miniworks.
Toilet paper in plastic bag, unless you prefer pine cones.

...end of lecture...go back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Good Info.
