68 or 71 moto guzzi

I have a friend that has a 68 or 71 moto guzzi v700. I bought it off him for 200 dollars and it runs. I have no clue about these bikes but 200 dollars is hard to say no to. the motor was rebuilt last year and has maybe 200-300 miles on it. I cant really find anything about this bike. Some sites say it is very rare and other sites say its a hunk of junk and needs alot of work to make it worth the ride. Anyone here have one? if so what all did you have to do to it to make it a decent bike or is it just gold from the start?

Guzzi V700

If it is a V700 it is probably a 68. Yes rare. Check out the forum @ and also The Guzzisti there will be glad to help you.

Best sources of information:

My own '69 Ambassador (very similar to a V700) has been super reliable and barrels of fun for the last 66k miles. I don't expect that to change any time soon. Great bikes.

Why not post in Old's Cool instead of here? Unless you're going to make a big project out of it.
