The one above uses a 4 cyl/CVT, not the big V8 of the other commercial van.

So I am glad this is finally here. The E series was getting pretty long in the tooth. We have already replaced our compact trucks with Transit Connects. Our crews like the way they drive and really like the room inside compared to compact trucks. I like that TC's are dirt cheap and get better mileage than compact trucks.

So, hopefully this will be priced just as aggressively as the TC and get decent mileage with a V6 gasser. No oil burners for me since that introduces fleet fueling issues.

Do your crews find a transit connect has enough space for a two man crew compared to a full size club cab pickup? What kind of real world mpg do you see loaded with a two man crew?

Cant Wait

I am holding my old GMC together with bandaids waiting for this van. As far as it being tried & true in Europe & not having first generation issues, I believe that it was completely redesigned for the global platform?

I had the old shaped one as well, it was a great van too. They call Transits the 'Backbone of Britain' here.

Boy, lots of good diesels coming to the U.S. now.

I hope Ford prices it aggressively.

Plenty of space for three guys plus our full load out with a real world fully loaded mileage of 16 to 17 mpg calculated over the last four months. That full load out is two or three guys, winter gear and several hundred pounds of crap. No mechanical issues yet. The guys like them for the city.

Diesel version only, or all?

We never found an economic benefit to diesel if you drive less than 30-40,000 miles per year, so the gasser is fine.

I don't know about the new one, but we have 2011 Transit vans here at work that get horrible mileage... That said, the Sprinter isn't much better here.

My commute is 62miles to work each way through the mountains and 1.5hrs. I am getting about 10-15mpg over the best gas vehicle I could get by going diesel. I think diesel has great advantages but, it is not for everyone.
