Husaberg Adventure Team - 3 x FE570 build up

I guess there comes a time when a man begins to look at other models and thinks to himself ... "mmm that looks mighty fine. I would love to ride that damn hard." That doesnt mean you dont love and appreciate what you have, just that sometimes, a new austro-swedish model can do things the old one italo-german one wouldnt dream of doing.

And thats why I started looking at a Husaberg for the next project. A Husaberg 570. 60 hp in a 114 kg package. Smooth fuel injection. First class twin chamber forks and progressive damping in the rear.

I consulted my two partners in crime ... two hardy, seasoned riders who were going to join me on the ambitious project, Lukas and Barton. The verdict was unanimous. The Husaberg has awesome potential, not just for out little project but down the line, long after the project was over, we could turn them into real adventure bikes.

But first we had to pick the bikes up. We consulted the guys at Husaberg and they customised some bikes for us straight off the production line. Awesome start!

So we decided to video this process from the start ... and here is the first video ...

I look forward to hearing of some of the tricks and tips that you got from the factory mechanics.

Good start for this new adventure

Walter, you and Lukas will have all of us "captured " again as you start this new adventure with the new bikes.

I am in as always so keep us smiling and Lucas, I can totally understand that need for coffee, good strong European mountain coffee. Send some over here or better yet, we will come over there!!!

I left Vilnius on a rainy morning in July 1991 and had the same coffee attack about an hour on the ride below.

ciao, gale

Sleeping Around on Your BMW?

This should be interesting. Look forward to your build. What exactly do you have in mind? Are you going straight to Adventure Travel mode ... or?
And what things did the factory modify on your bikes?

I had the extreme pleasure get a Husaberg test bike for 3 weeks back in 2007. A 550E. I rode it mostly in the desert ... and it's the best bike I've ever ridden there. Several riding friends had a go ... most liked it. So tunable, so capable and easily set up to suit individual riders.

Can't wait to hear your initial ride report on the stock bike ... and plans you may have for the future.

I would hope KTM/Husaberg are paying attention to you guys. I could see them using your input to develop a "real" Adventure Bike, made to order and ready for the Road of Bones ... and all the R&D provided by you guys.
Win Win!

The bikes were great then ... by now I imagine they are fantastic!
A few pics from the past ....

Dakar rider Charlie Rauseo and buddy Mike Krynoc testing the brand new Berg's ... a 450 and a 550E.

A little lite Motocross work to warm up ...

Charlie ran afoul of The Man ... for jumping OVER another rider
He got off with a warning .... Yes ... US Motocross parks have cops!
