Could this be a good trials/trail crossover bike?

I spoke to my KTM dealer today and he told me to check out the KTM freeride 350. Cause I told him I wanted a trials bike that I could ride trails with. What do you guys think? Think it will be good of a flop?

Lots of posts in this forum about the Freeride. They are cool bikes.

I think it would be lots of fun, but probably not really like a trials bike. I had a 250exc 2 stroke KTM that I geared into the basement. It was a real hoot on trail, and was definitely more capable in the rocks than my XR650, but it was not a trials bike. Center of gravity is pretty high, wheelbase is too long, and the steering radius isn't tight enough. I am not seeing a weight listed there, but I'll bet in the 200lb minimum range, which is still pretty heavy for trials, usually around 155lb for the modern rigs.

But, I bet it would be lots of fun

Whats cheating about picking up a trials based trail bike?

In my mind if they make it and you can buy it it isn't cheating at all!

Take a spin on a KTM 200, it is closer to a trials bike than anything I have ridden before.
