Laugh Hey, World Travellers

Nice pics Mel. Chicago looks very nice. Apparently, Northern Toronto had 30cm of snow (Timmins). I know you're not close but still.

This weekend, it's supposed to rain, rain, rain...of course, it's May long weekend!

Drive safe and keep us posted. I love to see your pictures.

Slight change to the route:

Instead of staying in Canada for the rest of the trip, we're crossing back into New York (state) to ride through the Adirondack Mountains! Woohoo. Gonna get some wicked GoPro videos. Ten crossing the states of Vermont, New Hampshire and back into Canada through Maine.

Your bike will be jealous.

Here is the new route:

I think you will be happy with this route change, if your schedule allows, considering driving to the top of Mount Washington, in North Conway NH. Also, if you come thru Bangor, Maine, consider stopping for a photo op at Stephen King's house. If time allows, look me up as I live in Bangor and would love to take you to Calais Maine which is the maine entry to Canada.

New route

Seems like a good plan!

We'll consider it! Actually, I just asked Chris and we're headed that way tomorrow.

We're in a cheap hotel in Vermont. The Appalachian mountains have been good to us and we had fun. Pics in about an hour.

You weren't impressed with the "Chroma-bean"?? I thought it was cool.

Awesome to see the KLR's making it happen, good luck and have fun on the rest of your journey.

I thought it was interesting I just didn't get why there was a giant bean in the middle of Chicago. Like why is it there.

Yeah, I have no idea. I did get a kick out of it though.

If you get back into Chicago try Lucky's Sandwich Company. Its some good eating and decent prices too.

Good call going through Vermont. Mt.Washington is cool. If you get a chance go north through Stowe in Vermont. There is a road there called Smugglers Notch that was one of the more amazing places I saw on my trip out there last year...

The mountains treated us well. Beautiful views and knarly roads. The best was coming up to a peak, being surprised by intense moutain fog then seeing a sign: Pavement Ends with a 10-12% grade decent.
That was awesome.

After the mountains we came into New Brunswick and stayed at Chris' brother in law's parents' cabin. (That's a mouthful, I know). Stayed there 3 days. What a nice break. Got some nice glory shots of the bike that I'll have to post later.
Today we got to Saint John and will be only doing a short riding day, getting to Fundy Nat'l Park.

The east cost is really turning out to be what I expected which is making me more and more excited to get to NFLD. we still have lots to see like more of the coastal highway, Halifax will be nice, getting on a ferry for the first time, Viking ruins, and of course George Street in St. John's.

This is a beautiful place.

Here to make you jealous.

Not in any particular order but these are all from around the same place.

Big Red.

Touching the Ocean

A beautiful place

Exploring the rocky shoreline...

When the tide goes out the beach is MASSIVE because it's almost horizontal.

At a restaurant overlooking the water.

A 100-year old covered bridge

The massive beach. Takes 6h13m from high tide to low tide.
