Glad to see you both having a great trip. Pretty dangerous letting Chris sit on that Beemer GS - never know when one follows you home.

We did not get much sightseeing done while they were here but a Fee&Chee at ByDaBeach on Friday eve went well with a postcard type setting. We spent most of the time repairing/replacing/rebuilding/upgrading systems on the two steeds but it should serve them well for the return trip.

Should you happen to find yourself in Twillingate, ask anyone in town for Jody the fish monger. He'll take you out and make sure you get to kiss the cod.

so to speak.

gpsKevin got to ride with Mel and Chris

I got to ride with Mel and Chris for a day. Great fun "Kids" we rode some of the Railways. Mel was nervous but did great. Here is a picture of her coming under the highway.

In spots the trail was nice other it had been over ridden and what whooped out!

Mel's front tire caught the center berm and she slid out. Picture of her back up and smiling

They both did many water crossing and did great.

In the evening we set up camp and made dinner. Well they did all the work!

In the morning I said goodbye and continued on my own TCAT Adventure

Kevin, when you pass through Thunder Bay, PM me if you need a place to tent. I might even be able to ride a bit with you depending on the day.

Now We Chase the Sun

Another pic dump. Voila.

After a couple days wrenching on the bikes, it was time to have fun.

Newfoundland countryside

As we headed for home, we chose to follow most of the TCAT or NFLD T'railway back to the Port aux Basques ferry

Here is Kevin, an ADVer from San Diego we met in St.John's. We did a day on the TCAT together before parting ways

A German hiker we met on the T'railway. He walks alot.

These cool bridges are everywhere

Didn't get to see the park on the way there so we caught it on the way back and actually camped in it. Pretty beautiful.

Snagged this pic on the way back as well.

Woke up to a gorgeous day for our trek to Peggy's cove.

One last good hard look at the Ocean.

Peggy's Cove Lighthouse.

Tried finding some trails later on that day but I randomly got a pinch flat. I was incredibly sad. While the flat was being remedied, by bike fell over and my pannier got all sorts of screwed up. Rough day!

While we fixed my flat, we decided to replace my old front tire with this one:

The next night we camped on a service road that was all sandy. There we braved the tail end of a tropical storm. The next morning we had fun trying to get the bikes out!

Then we headed to P.E.I, basically just to cross the Confederation Bridge and come back

That was today. We are now in Edmundston, waiting for tomorrow, as we will jump back on the TCAT we will be taking pretty much all the way back home. We are both excited to get some good off roading done and it should make for some good pictures.

Westward-ho

Bonjour from HOME

I like the tunnel picture! And what's this I hear? you fell !!!! Chris, aren't you taking care of my daughter!!! Tropical Storm!!!! I'm kidding.

So happy for both of you. What an experience you both will have for a long time.

Again, I can't wait to see all the pictures! Take care and love you.

The experience has been amazing so far, that's true.

But I have a feeling the pictures ill get on this next long leg of the trip will be very interesting.
We are currently aboard a ferry, crossing the St. Laurence river so that we can jump in the TCAT on the other side. From there the path gets a lot more remote. We can't wait to escape the urban jungles and be out on our own again.

From what I saw while they were here the strength of your daughter requires little taking care of. You should be very proud. You did a great job.

Wicked

You're too kind, Murph.

So yesterday was pretty interesting...
We've been cruising through Quebec, only doing a small portion of the TCAT here because the trail is mostly logging roads that shake to bikes to pieces.

We took a ferry across the st. Laurence river which was cool.

We took a rest stop on the side of the highway to stretch out and try and catch fish. Who else shows up in the middle of NOWHERE to come say hi? Our dear friend Kevin, whom we met in St. John's.

So we talked and swaped stories until..

Another flat tire. The inner tune kept getting pinched. We had even repaire a flat that same morning.

So we put our remaining spare tube (a front one) in my back tire and made it just outside Val D'Or.
The plan now is to ride close to wawa then tomorrow try and make it to Thunder Bay.
We're pushing hard so we don't miss out friends' wedding.
