Which way do you turn your handle bars when stopped or parked ?

I usually turn them to the left, but when filling the tank the bars get in the way so I turn them to the right.

I turned them to the left & to the right & the bike doesn't seem to be any more stable or unstable either way.

Any thoughts ?

The bike lifts from the stand better (easier) when full lock right. For parking FULL LOCK LEFT!

If parked full lock right a stong breeze can blow a bike over.

Locked full left if left anywhere public. In my garage, usually however they end up after I pull the bike in or on the centerstand if applicable.

My owners manual clearly say full left to park....it does seem a lot more stable that way.

Full lock left, steering lock won't engage right. KLR250 I had would engage either right or left. If parked without locking whichever seems more stable.

There is no "seems" It is always more stable turned toward the kickstand.

Parked away from home - full left, locked

Parked when chatting with friends - straight ahead

Parked in my garage - straight ahead, not locked

My Versys also seems more stable at full lock left, so that is how I always park it.

Depends which side I want to get off the bike. I turn the bars to make them open to the side I am mounting and dismounting.

This is often dictated by the condition of the road or trail.

You guys always amaze me with your existential questions.

A bike is meant to be parked with the bars turned toward the stand (left), everyone know this, but if you feel that in any X or Y situation it would be better to act differently...well, be a man and just do it.

full lock right...away from the kickstand unless parked on a hill where that makes the bike unstable.

DRZ's lean over so far when on the kickstand, it doesn't really matter...it isn't falling over away from the kickstand on level ground either way. (and, even if it did fall over, it wouldn't really matter.)

and getting on and off of it is much easier with the bars turned that way as the left handle bar is then not in the way. or, at least, that's how it works out for me. (i'm 6'0" and there ain't no way i am mounting or dismounting the bike from the right side...it's too tall for that, leans too far toward the kickstand, and i'm no gymnast/gumby.)
plus it confuses the cruiser guys i park next to at bike night.

My Tenere is the only bike I have ever owned that locks the handlebar left or right . Out of habit I always park and lock it on the left.

Left...

I'm not even sure it's really a choice...if mine were turned right any less than full-lock, I think they'd just fall to the left anyway.

This.

I don't trust people that park full left lock, they are generally hand wringers and afraid that the sky is falling.
