Sounds like the stuff I'm already using, but for some reason the purple paint just did NOT want to come off. Used it on the van, paint came right off. Used it on the white truck, paint came right of. Purple- different attempts, lots of soaking, and a bunch of scrapping.

Today's progress.

Made some beds,

and got 'em sorta fitting...

Decided on a name for this one... "Overboard".

Made some axles / driveshafts out of welding rod, started cleaning up the "weld" on the cabs, and cut the bed floors down to size. Also filled a few holes in on the beds and cut the tailgates out from the toppers.

Got to thinking... Always a dangerous activity. Going to try and build a "frame" under it. Flattened some welding rod with the hammer.

Yes. Weathers still not nice enough to re-commence on the body work, and I still havent managed to scrimp together enough $$$ to order the engine rebuild kit. Well, I've gotten close several times but there's always some bill that needs payed.

Pretty sure I can afford to finish this one though. So far I'm into it a whopping $8.00.

Bent up the frame rails.

Welded some cross bars on,

Sort of how it'll sit.

Hoping to find some mid-size tires, not the huge monster truck tires. It should sit lower than that last pic.

Not sure if I'm going to go this far, but here's a floor plan, complete with transmission hump.

That looks like a 428 backed by a C6.
On another note, do you think you could split a Beetle lengthwise?

The other valve cover you think you are seeing is actually an exhaust manifold. 300 cid Straight Six.

A friend of mine split two sedans lengthwise and WIDENED them, I'm sure we could figure something out. Would you like a motorcycle rear end as well?

I do see the exhaust now. I'm sure that paint will show it better.

Hmm, motorcycle rear on the 'Dub? What a crazy ass idea. Nah, too unrealistic to believe. Maybe widen the front fenders too?

Yeah, plan on detailing it a bit more with paint. Going to even try and make a distributor and run "wires" (just thread). Kinda pointless though, you won't even be able to see it.

Unless I cut the hood off...

Thinkin I'm going to use these as the wheels.

Not allowed in this competition... Plus I've never done it before and I wanted to try something different.
