I'll bend the heck out of the left side, and I'll re-spring the bike. It's still set up for one of those 175 lbs spinners...

All-in-all, about 2,000 miles of awesome riding and fun!

Great ride pics: makes me miss my GS rides. Time to start planning...

I had similar issues on my G650X Challenge with the front end bottoming out until I had Javier from Trail Tricks redo my front end, springing and re-valving it for my weight. I still need to replace the rear air shock with a nice spring shock and replace the bash plate that fell off somewhere in New Mexico last summer...

I guess a good bash guard has to have crush zones, but no matter how good, eventually a hit will exceed its ability to absorb it and be transferred to the frame, or whatever bottoms out first (in this case, the engine cover). if the bash guard was stronger, then the frame would take the damage, which is muh oh

Wow, what a killer weekend! Huge thanks to the event organizers, I had such a great time.

I had a GoPro running on Saturday and finally have a video to share from the riding that day.

I didn't take a whole lot of pics, and the ones I did take kind of sucked but I'll share anyway.

On the way out, ya ya I know, they're on a trailer.

"Patiently" waiting for everyone to get ready, haha.

Just found time to take the skid plate off to look whassup:
The good news: not my fault, all bolts/plugs are tight.
The bad news: a (receding) hairline crack in the left engine cover, caused by transfer of impact: rock hitting skid plate, bash plate hitting engine cover.

Unfortunate design of the G-iT engine protection: the side edge (vertical part) ends just millimeters under the engine cover. With enough force, the impact is not absorbed, but passed on.

Part ordered, ready to ride in about a week.

i take NO responsibility. talk to that guy Rincon and his family of Boulders.

buying a KTM would be the best modification.
