My 06 Uly stops great. I can do stoppies with it, just change to better pads on the front. The rear brakes aren't designed to be strong, that comes from it's racing background. I actually hardly ever use the rear brake on the street and off road the rear works fine. Having the ability to lock up the rear on the street is a bad thing...

+1 on American Sportbike. Al and Joanne are the best. I had a 2006 with the usual heat issues. Get a right side scoop and comfort kit ( blanket). My 08 lightning STT has several improvements and a rss and ECM from EBR reduced the heat and added horsepower (along with the Barkers pipe).

Loved the uly and the huge luggage capacity. Loaded down, two up and 75 mph returned 50 mpg all day long.

Would love to find brackets to put my pelican cases on my TT and take some long trips on it!

Reliability has never been an issue; nor have been brakes. Welcome new buelligan.

Thanks everyone. It really is a fun, fun bike. I think I got all of the kinks worked out. New stator and a new voltage regulator and all seems to be perfect. I still can't believe i traded my klr for this monster of a bike, but I think the previous owner didn't want to deal with the charging issues.
