Come on, guys, I know that it is the first day of boating season here in Seattle with an expected high of almost 80F, but you all shouldn't be quite so distracted as all this!

By putting the apostrophe after the "i" you've turned it into a possessive, which it is not.

Come on people, show them off.

Okay, if you insist. I have the only 955i SE in AK.

And a friend of mine has a red Daytona.

Here we are near the top of Hatcher Pass about 60mi north of Anchorage. Love those triples. Mark H.

Mine looks exactly like AKDuc's, so no need for a pic. I picked it up on Friday & rode it for the first time. Different bike for sure. I had sat on it before, but when I hit the road the riding position seemed way more aggressive than it did just sitting on it. I have a new set of bars, new ZG touring windscreen in hand & a rear stand on order. Then it's new tires & get to riding.

My bike has the same exhaust as AKDuc's. Is this the Triumph TOR muffler?

Yes, and it sounds great! Might want to take your bike in for the latest map upgrade tho for best tuning.

I also put Heli Bars on mine. Very comfy. Have fun, Mark H.

Rode a bike for the 1st time in 15 years today.

This is for sale at a local dealers. A'98 t595 with 5500 miles.

Test rode it and fell in love with bikes all over again. It made a few odd noises, just like my old Speed Triple. I'm not sure if its been resprayed. I can't find another of the same colour for its age.

Not sure about the paint.

Its a looker though, I always loved that body style...but there are a lot of issues that come along with the pre-1999 T595s, enough that I would likely pass for a (one year) later model, the 1999-2001s are tanks. I have one in 6 digit mileage.

Just picked this one up today. Got it crazy cheap from craigslist. 28,000 miles, Remapped with Remus pipe, some minor cosmetic issues from a garage tip over and needs a rear tire. Also got a service manual and rear wheel stand along with some misc parts.

I owned a 2001 Sprint ST, but I recently took an interest in the 955i Daytona. Question: if you slap some helibars on the bike and maybe some lower pegs, does the Daytona compare with the Sprint for long distant comfort?
Also, how are the lights on the Daytona (later models)? The lights on the Sprint were garbage...

Good luck getting Heli-bars. That was the first thing I thought of when I sat on my 955i. I checked their application list--not on there, so I called them. The lady that answered said that they didn't make them anymore & nothing else uses that size fork tube. She wasn't even going for making me a set.

I ended up getting a set of Cycle Cat bars. Haven't put them on yet as I find that the stock ones are not as bad as I had figured. I'm pretty sure I will put them on but I'll ride it a bit this way first.

As I was told in no uncertain terms on another thread when I was discussing the Daytona 955I as a sport tourer: It can be done, but the bike is tuned (cams, timing) as a sport bike. The Sprint is tuned as a Sport Tourer - more torque in the lower and middle band. The steering geometry is also quicker on the Daytona (steeper rake, less trial, shorter wheel base), handling tight corners better but requiring more attention than a Sprint. The Sprint has more relaxed ergos, and a much more comfortable seat.

You can ride a sport bike anywhere. But it won't be as comfortable as a Sport Tourer, won't have the mpg, tuning and the useable mid-range torque that make the ST's so easy to ride long distances. (That said, all of the Triumph triples have very flexible engines.)

These bikes exist along a continuum. Pick the end of the spectrum where you spend most of your time, and live with the rest.

Apex 2" or 4" rise clip-ons, or Convertibars adjustible bars. For me, both are better than Helibars or LSL superbike conversions because they can be adjusted to my preference.
