Charging GoPro Batteries?

The battery on the GoPro Hero3 (Black Edition) only lasts about an hour, so I picked up two spare batteries for it. But... there seems to be no way to charge them without putting them into the camera and then connecting it to a computer or charger.

GoPro doesn't seem to make a charger for the batteries (only for the camera with battery inside).

Has anyone found another way to charge these batteries?

I really don't want to stay up all night when on a trip, charging one battery after another and there's got to be a way of charging these things without buying extra cameras just for charging!

Anyone?

Gosh, if only it was wind-up and held almost 180 seconds of one-time only recording medium with such a narrow field of view it required the operator to...look thru it!

Be a HERO!

While you are at it, GoPro just updated the firmware in Mid-April. It is suppose to fix a bunch of bugs. It might help with your battery life.

You can also use your Iphone 110v charger. Just plug the usb end into the iphone charger same as you would your phone. This assumes of course that you have an Iphone

Thanks, but they have no chargers for GoPro batteries without the battery being IN the camera.

I have no problem charging the battery while it is IN the camera. What I want is to be able to charge my extra batteries WITHOUT the camera.

Google might be my friend, but you sir, are also!

The link you provided was for a charger for the Hero2, but that company did also have one for the Hero3 and I've now ordered it. Shipping to Canada is unfortunately even more expensive that the charger (and two extra batteries) themselves. But a man's got to have what a man's got to have, right?

Cheers!

I bought this charger and two batteries-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncUL5D5yn_s

I found it on Amazon

Batteries are 1200mAh which is a little larger than the GoPro battery. So far they have worked really well. It also helps to turn off the wireless, I found it uses a lot of battery life.

The charger I bought from them is a separate unit with plugs for AC and DC.

I have the older GoPro and it is a very handy charger.
