Well, it was raining, not bad at all. Now, that road looks awesome with long sweeping curves and updated surface. Must be a blast to ride it.

Thanks. That's the Old Spiral Highway, out of Lewiston, Idaho. But I was just driving it, that day:

TIA boys.
Yes. You guys are prompting me to more fully investigate this camera's features (including HDR, which looks interesting).

It's nice to see the enthusiasm that the reviewers have for this camera. I found this one, which is a little easier to read than the usual sites:

Arrrrgggg!!!! I hate these anachronyms.

HDR? What is this?

I found a low price earlier today for the RX100 in the webz, printed it up, went to Best Buy and had the freakin' camera at the checkout counter. The gal called the manager over to check on the price match guarantee, but they didn't match the price from this site. $100 cheaper than Best Buy.

This is the first time I've fondled this little camera. It feels solid.

Finally getting ready to give up my Contax 167MT with razor sharp Zeiss glass I used for a Minor in Photography and the 10 year old Canon Sure Shot something or another.

Is the RX100 the right decision?

Dirty, if a slim, small pocket camera is what you're after, the RX is about the closest to a DSLR out there at this point.

Oh, and since you're shelving your Contax, any Zeiss lenses you'd care to part with?

HDR is an abbreviation for High Dynamic Range (not an acronym). Take 3 shots, combine them into one with the dynamic range of all three. Google it.

Anachronisms are a whole 'nother thing. (Pun intended).

Yes, the RX100 is the answer to all your dreams. It will, without question, make you the best photographer on the planet. Point it, shoot,... masterpiece. Guaranteed. Every time. Hot chicks will flock to you whenever they see your photos

THIS! We took one to Asia last year & it was the final nail in the coffin for my 8 year old D70, which ended up getting left in the hotel room (especially at night where the new sony sensor just left it for dead).

For the rx100 owners, how are you feeling about the transition from a view finder to a screen?
The RX100 II has an optional EVF but it might be $400 so that's out of the question.

I didin't have any problem trasnsitioning from viewfinder to screen. Oh... on the first day of owning it, several times I brought the RX100 up to my eye.. cause I forgot that it doesn't have a viewfinder.

The only problem that I have with screen, and it really is a minor problem, is when I don't wear my glasses and I want to move the auto focus/AF point and select different focus point. That's when I have to move the camera back and forth cause it's difficult to see the placement of the AF point. The AF point is visible clearly, but I don't know if it's on the right spot that I want it to be or not. That is the only problem I have with the screen.

Well done, thorough review of the Sony NEX 6 mirrorless here:

sonyalphalab

Kinda think this is the one I'd buy.

Anybody wanna buy a nice Nikon P7100?
