Same one, at Assen. All my pix.

Half an hour ride from the border is close enough for me. Having spent quite a bit of time in the region, I can assure you, sometimes you're not sure which country you're in....And it's good.

Now here's a beauty! Found it last week in Austria, and never heard of it before. An absolute sweety, I'm sure you'll all agree..

Laurin & Klement

Having had a Skoda in my time (an Estelle - great car! Seriously!) I got the history of how Laurin and Klement started making bikes. Seems Mr Klement wasn't pleased with the customer relations department of the manufacturer of his bicycle. From Wikipedia:
"Klement returned his bicycle to the manufacturers, Seidel and Naumann, with a letter, in Czech, asking them to carry out repairs, only to receive a reply, in German, stating: "If you would like an answer to your inquiry, you should try writing in a language we can understand". A disgusted Klement, despite not having technical experience, decided to start a bicycle repair shop, which he and Václav Laurin opened in 1895 in Mladá Boleslav. Before going into business partnership with Klement, Laurin was established as a bicycle manufacturer in the nearby town of Turnov."

I have several K of Jawa and ČZ pictures. My first ride is 350 TS '87.
And here in Serbia we have two Jawa riders clubs and a dedicated forum.

This facility is only 30 minutes from my place. There's some other pretty cool pieces there as well.
