What was the final verdict on the insurance paying for your gear?

Glad to hear you're healing up. I missed a deer by about 4' Wednesday in Idaho. Doing about 65mph and it came onto the road in the air, jumping a concrete barrier. Scared the crap out of me. About 5 minutes later I almost wrecked after a wasp walked from my ear on to the inside of my visor.

Good luck with your recovery!

Insurance company (house) was easy to deal with and fair. They wrote me a cheque for replacement value of my gear, but didn't cover things on the motorcycle that were motorcycle specific (soft bags, tank panniers and handlebar muffs).

Vehicle insurance is paying for my rehab.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard of anyone having their gear paid for after a wreck, and I wouldn't have thought to ask. Cheers. ....Steve

I have an inexpensive addition to my insurance which covers aftermarket additions. It's up to a certain dollar amount IIRC.

You've hit all 3? I wonder if that is a record?

I worked with a guy whose brother rode an original G/S and his tank had the stick-on critter shapes of everything he'd hit. Cow, dog, deer, etc. Several. Made me want to stay out of his way.
