Could probably clearance the top stop a little to have it fold in tighter.

I like that....i've got the factory side stand bracket on order now ....my factory side stand is straight like yours so it may indeed work with the center stand if I weld it out like yours....thanks for posting

I think I determined my problem, lots of slop in the pivot will need to be taken up with a bushing and more importantly, I'm pretty sure I have a side stand off a Duke II. It only measures about 350 mm from pivot to center of the foot. The 2000 640 A stand also uses a different spring set up according to the parts fiche. Guess I'm going to have a buddy weld up an extension or something as the parts aren't available any more.

What a pain, stay with it.

Well worth the effort.
Makes everything so easy.
