Sena SMH10D-10 vs the SMH10D-1 (2011 model)

Has anyone upgraded from the original smh10d to the newest Sena SMH10D-10?

Is the volume louder and how is the range, is it improved? I sold my old dual set and upgraded to the newest because I got a good deal and it only cost me $40 for the upgrade.

Anyone else do the same and was there a big improvement or about the same other than being able to connect multiple bluetooth devices?

I just looked at the Sena website and I don't see an SMH10D or SMH10D-10.

I just made it up, Sena doesn't make bluetooth headsets silly. It was all an elaborate joke. You fell for it!

They did upgrade the hardware at least once, when they changed from mini USB to micro USB connectors. I bought mine in 2011 and it already had micro USB. I haven't heard about more recent updates.

To answer my own question. I received the mythical smh10d-10 today and it is indeed louder and clearer than the older smh10d-1. I plan to try it out this weekend to see if the range is indeed longer than the older model. I do love the fact it uses a standard micro usb charger like my phones.

The orig sena smh10 was not mini USB, it was nothing. That is, there was no USB data interface... Only power via a coax connector for charging, but firmware not upgradeable. By the time I upgraded from coax it was micro. I guess there have been 3 versions so far?
