If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

Sumbitch Andy! That's what they call grenaded. 12K miles is nothing for this to happen.

Day 3

Dad says that is enough talk about the broke bike. Day 3 got off to a early start. Everybody got up around 600A and packed up their tents and camping gear. Dad says it was a good thing they packed early, it started raining around 645A. The guys went over to the dining shelter to drink some coffee and wait on breakfast. The cooks started serving at 730A, and everybody was through eating by the time it stopped raining. Dad said be sure to mention that it was a very kool morning (38F). The gang left camp and rode south on 276, past the BRP, and stopped at Looking Glass Falls.

Ground control to Major Toms....

It was cold and wet most of the morning, so Dad did not take many pictures. The group turned right just below the falls, then rode woods roads and back roads all the way to South Carolina. Dad got this real nice picture of Clarke with everybody's dream home in the back ground.

The gang turned off of Burrells Ford Rd in South Carolina on to a 2 tracker that Dad thought was Glade Rd. The road did not go through, but there was a creek crossing where Dad took some pictures.

After that, Dad said they rode Overflow Creek Rd and Hale Valley Rd. Everybody got turned around on Hale Valley Rd. after getting some instructions from 2 very nice ladies who were out looking at waterfalls. The result was that the group came back out on War Woman Rd. instead of on 441 in North Carolina. It was lunch time, so the guys went looking fro BBQ, and found a good roadside BBQ business just north of Raburn gap. Dad said he had a pork sandwich and a lemonade. After lunch, Dad headed for home, while everybody else went back to Bryson City. Dad said Mom's TW200 did just fine on the 150 mile trip to our house. Dad did say he got very sleepy just 12 miles from home. It was so bad that Dad stopped for a break and some ice cream. Dad was home just before 600p, tired but happy after a great trip.

Oh yeah, my dad is so cheap that he didn't even get me a T-shirt.

A Story

Quote:
From Ken: Forget the bike pics, we want to see one of the stripper!
Ken, Dad says a couple of years ago he was on a ride with John and they were waiting to eat in a restaurant. John started telling a story about his ex-wife. The first thing we heard was she doesn't dance anymore - she is a lawyer (thanks to John). Then John started telling about the time he went to the beach with her and 3 of her best friends (read dancers). There was one line about coconut sun tan oil and hard to reach spots when they called our group to eat. Dad says he could never get John to finish the story.

Ken
If you've seen the movie Hangover that pretty much sums up my life in my 30's in Florida. Ten years of nonstop party. Seemed like a good idea at the time and a lot of it is a blur. Your imagination will probably cover most of it

Thanks for doing the ride report Dad. We had a great group of riders and some wonderful riding. Can't wait to do it again.

John

My kids dress me so I am not sure, but I believe that this is a Disney themed t-shirt.
