How do I add a TDB map index to a .img file?

Hi,

How do I add a TDB map index to a .img file?

I discovered that I could only get an older version (3.02) of TOPO to install on my Montana by joining, with GMapTool, all the individual .img files from within a TOPO region into one big .img file. But I was not able to figure out what to do with the .tdb file associated with each region.

Related(?), JaVaWa Device Manager shows the "Contains maps" field for my combined map as {none}. On the one hand, my resultant map seems to be working fine for my purposes. On the other, it would be nice to understand a bit more about what I am doing and tidy up these loose ends.

I suspect the above may elicit a response along the lines, “Wow, where to even begin with this dude?” No problem. If you could just point me in the right direction I would be appreciative.

Thanks,
Jay
