If you bring up Google maps and plan a route from Deadhorse to Key West, it'll be pretty accurate/comparable to what he's doing.

At roughly 45 miles north of Haines Junction @ 0914 hours local time, he stopped moving. We learned later that the heat got to him and he had to stop to cool down because it was making him ill. That's one of the problems with being in the "land of the midnight sun"....it doesn't cool off much at night !

He started moving again at 1114 hours after relaxing for a couple of hours.

He arrived at Haines Junction @ 1140 hours local time, 1440 Eastern time. Elapsed time so far is roughly 15 hours & 15 minutes. That amounts to 987 miles in 15:15 or roughly 65 MPH average.

He arrived in Whitehorse at 12:45 hours local time...15:45 Eastern time for an average speed of 65 MPH.

Very unique....

Now this one has really got my attention. I might reach 74 mph passing someone once in awhile! That's about it for me.....Thanks for keeping us updated and all the best of luck to Dan....

Stay safe Dan,

Things I failed to mention

Dan is from Somerset, Pennsylvania and when you ride up north, you meet a lot of bugs and you wear a bit of mud.

Good luck to Dan, Somerset is pretty close to me. He had a pretty good haul just getting to the starting line.

Temps do not cool down much.

Sorry, but little do you know about the North,(yukon) Even though we get long daylite hours, the temps do cool off a night. Right now (in Whitehorse) we are getting great summer weather, +26 c this afternoon, but by morning, it will be about +7 or +8c. I get up in the morning and need to put the liner in my jacket, by noon it is too warm.
Enough about that, hope the long distance ride goes good.

Trip ends in Northern British Columbia

Blew a front tire on the bike earlier this evening and so the ride ended there.

Cheers...
