How are the passenger seats on these (for distance)? I imagine the Voyager has a pretty good one, being the luxury model, but what about the Nomads and the Vaqueros?

My wife doesn't like the one in my Vaquero, it's too small to really sit on comfortably. Luckily for her she has her own bike and the rear seat on the Vaquero is for my 5 year old son. It's plenty big for him. I just need to get the quick disconnect back rest for it and raise the pegs up so he can firmly put his feet on them. Then the family will be able to go on rides together instead of just me by myself.

I just did a hair over 1100 miles in 2 days on the Vaquero and it really eats up the miles. I found the stock seat plenty comfortable and the taller windshield from Clear View got rid of all the buffeting/wind noise from the stock stubby windshield. We rode out there just to get some In-N-Out Burger

Cruisers are certainly better passenger bikes than anything sporty, but if a passenger is going to be a full time permanent part of the deal, I still say a Goldwing is the way to go. They are specifically designed for passengers

I'll bring this thread back up Davey Jones' locker. I can't believe there isn't more Vulcan fans out there.

Still have the Vaquero and loving it. I've put almost 4000 on it since buying it at the end of July. I've managed to ride it every few weeks this winter despite the cold and keep the odometer moving.

I finally installed the quick detach passenger back rest w/ cargo rack. I still need to make the taller passenger pegs for my kid to use.

Still riding it, I put almost 500 miles on it yesterday going to Trinidad and back to grab a tag. Its now sitting at about 14,200 on the odometer so I'll be getting the 15K service done on a bit early as there is another In-N-Out Burger run in the works for the end of next month.



It took me about 9.5hrs to do, it was really cold so heading down I stopped frequently to warm up and finally spent some time in a store finding hand and feet warmers. Coming back I made a 170mile non-stop stint to get home, my longest non-stop ride thus far. I'm still pretty consistent at 40mpg with it too.

Love the 900, did upgrade to a mustang seat soooo much better than the stock seat. Threw on a bat wing fairing and rode two up from KY to Charleston SC last summer and had a great time, two lanes the whole way. Best vacation ever!! 18k miles with no issues so far

Just had a new front tire put on and the 15K service done. No adjustment needed on the valves.

I really like the Kawi cruisers. In fact, if I was to get one, I'm not even sure which one I would get because I like several - the 900 Custom, the 900 LT and I really like the Nomads.

So here is my question. Why are they so cheap? Or such a good deal - depending on how you look at it. I can find 1500 Nomads for less than $5000. Same thing for 2007-2009 900's.

2003 Honda 1300's go for the same or more and they older and are carb'd.

Star 1300 can be found for less than $7000 but the Kawi Cruisers still seem like a better deal. And in my opion, a better looking bike.

I know this is a Vulcan thread, but any comments?

Bought my 98 Vulcan 800 Classic with this hideous paint job in 2001- my first real motorcycle.



Thankfully, I worked at a Technical Center and I had the students repaint it to look like this:



She never stranded me and kept me hanging with the big boys for a few years before I got something larger- a K1200LT.

Not sure why they're cheaper but get one and you won't regret it. Good reputation for reliability, great looks, good performance, plenty of comfort. What's not to love?
