I arrived at Gold Point Wednesday late afternoon and had to leave Saturday morning, missing the Bishop ride and whatever was done on Sunday. Here are a few pictures of the time that I was able to ride.

The bike I was riding for the weekend, I brought my 500exc also but did not even start it.

Had a blast on the 990, love it more and more every time I take it out.

Couple of pictures of stuff close to Gold Point.

No, it is not a good idea to go into that whole...

Some soft stuff.

You can almost see the imprint from the 1200 GS, but no picture of the carnage.

I had a blast, should have planed my stay a little better to get the other rides in. Was great meeting and riding with new folks and seeing friends from other trips. You M2W folks are a great group, will be lurking on your board to see an opportunity to meet up again.

Here is a pretty boring video but better than nothing, thought Florida would like it. That poor guy was beat up, multiple crashes, dehydrated and still seemed to have the most fun out of all of us. He even got to ride on the back of the 990, I am sure that made his trip worth while.

Till next time.....

Where on the trail did you crash?
it was on the first ledge, i took the right side approach and cleared it but had too much speed. a boulder was in my way and had to turn the bar to the left where my front tire got caught in the hole. pretty much a tip over but felt i was body slammed against a rock. glad i have good gear and protected me. my leatt neck brace saved my ass. someone before me crashed at the same spot.

thanks to the 2 guys for moving the boulder to the far side and made it safer for the rest of the riders.

Man, so bummed I couldn't make this.

Thanks everyone for posting all the pictures and the video, which I watched at work today-entertaining how the guy just flies past on the left during the beginning.

Yes, I wondered what this was too. With a little research I learned this was an early pizza oven. Apparently, some of the first inhabitants of the Stateline Mine ran a take out pizza joint. When a nearby Domino's opened in 1911, the Stateline operation played out and the pizza business closed. All that remains today is the oven.

Lol, think dominos was founded in 1960. As my southern honey would say "might could be a kiln of some kind"
