Henno van Bergeijk's XT500
I saw this picture a few pages back, and i know i little about Henno's bike.
He used this picture for promotional purposes. The XT500 on this picture was build in an earlier Dakar with some French riders.  ... when Henno's plans became more serious, he came in contact with Hans Verstraten, who also had plans to build a rallybike based on a XT500. He build this bike, but Henno wanted a more stock looking bike to do his rally, so this bike was never used.  with the help of the Dutch XT500 club, XT500 expert Paul op 't Land and KEDO (a German supplier of a lot of Yamaha Single cilinder parts), the final bike looked like this.  and should you want to know why his right leg is so much forward .... Henno has a bad knee and can't bend it fully. |
