The shocks are Technoflex, and lots of the parts used came from Kedo, think the front forks are showa with technoflex internals, and Henno more or less built the bike himself to what i know of....in less than 2 months

This must be one of Dakar's history's biggest achievements to finish on a 30 year old bike, even ahead of guys on factory prepped 06 ones, think his particular bike was a '78 XT 500

well, he did not finish ahead of anybody, because he was dead last. but the biggest hero.

Stage 14 he finished 50th,
just 45 minutes behind 1st and 2nd Fretigne and Coma, and barely 9 minutes behind Jonah Street, but quite ahead of a lot of others.
Haven't followed the whole thing back then, heard at the first stages in Lisboa he was right behind the KTM factory team?

Pablo,

That looks an awful lot like the Meccasystems kit for the WR450F...

Another kit to consider is the one made by JVO Racing out of spain. Very nice looking kit, runs about $6-8000 Euros.

yeah that gear looks very good for WR's, saw it up close at BA this years Dakar, was very well thought out and constructed, a notch up from the Mecasystem gear I think

It was available from Yamaha Europe, but I believe JVO kit is the best available.
