Near on 500. Almost a two full day innings. Yikes. Australia can't lose. Surely it's either a draw or a loss for England? Even if England match Australia's total, that's two more days gone. Doesn't leave enough time for a result.

Good to see you know fuck-all about cricket too. Still, not knowing fuck all about something has never stopped you in the past.

Interesting, if not very exciting, day's play.

Clever bowling and fielding by the Aussies. They know that the wicket isn't doing much and that by closing down the English they may provoke a bit of frustration, hopefully leading to batsmen giving away wickets cheaply.

Credit to the English batsmen too, they have kept their discipline and have resisted.

It's not dramatic but it is Test Cricket.

My sense is that since the first day, England have been playing for the draw. They were accused of unacceptably slow play on day two. And they're batting at a snail's pace on day three, from what I understand.

4 overs left. After all that, it was Australia that was in a hurry to leave.

Okay, I'll admit to feeling a bit cheated by the bad light decision at the time but it was only fair given the earlier off for light. That's the rules.

Only three months or so to wait for the next clash down under. Should be good.

The real winner in this series was "old fashioned" Test Cricket. As much as I enjoy limited overs games and the IPL in particular, Test Cricket is still the best version of the game.

Amen!
Ironically, your point is proved by turning it into a one day game.
Thanks and respect to Micky Clarke, nice gesture. It would have felt really sort of damp to have limped through the last day of an Ashes series on an agreed draw. Good man!
