Mr. Dave, your photos have created a huge desire in me to learn HDR photography. I just got a Sony SLT-A57, this spring. It has an auto DHR setting on it. I need to check and see how many exposures it will let me take.

Really beautiful work, and you've inspired me to experiment!

The epidome of a ride report...

To me this IS the perfect blend of all things ride report. Great graphic maps, the right balance of story subtext and of course... the exquisite imagery.
VERY WELL DONE!!!

Thanks once again Dave.

What stunning photos, makes me want to pack up and leave tomorrow...
You have a good eye for some beautiful photographs, thank you for taking the time to share.
Maybe I missed it, what are you using for camera and lenses? You did mention a lot of post-processing...is that mainly to stitch the panoramas together?

Cameras were a Pentax K-5 DSLR and an Olympus EPL-1 mirrorless.

I shoot in RAW and process each photo in Lightroom. I also shoot bracketed exposures and merge into HDRs. Stitching panoramas are probably the easiest part, but the HDR panoramas are sometimes a lot of work.

I was SURE I had read all your RR's but this one slipped thru the net.....bloody awesome as ever!!

Been doing a wee bit of riding down here but have been working far too much!

Managed my first SS1000 the other week tho (which does take a bit o doing down here -esp on a Superhawk!) - must write up my thoughts about that I guess.

Anyhoo just wanted to internetly shake your hand for yet another master class in RR's n picture taking!!

Hat off to you mate!

Cheers

Shane

You take really awesome photos!
And what an excellent ride and hiking of you both.

We blast through Monument Valley.

This is the spot Forrest Gump ended his cross-country run.

I get busy taking pictures for the Motorcycles in HDR thread.

Helen takes pictures of me taking pictures.

She's a little excited.
