Georgi of Varna Cycles is a friend of mine for 25 years, and is truly an amazing man. Google his website.
When I first met him he was building a human powered helicopter to try and claim the prize for that. They couldn't achieve lift-off ,but what a machine!

Amazingly, the prize was only won this month- by a Canadian from back east.

Small world, eh? My mom is Ellen. Yes, Georgiev, is a truly amazing man, one of those guys who mechanical stuff just makes sense from an aesthetic point. I will check out his site, but he is so interesting in person! He was pretty ecstatic about the human powered helicopter flight when I saw him.

10 years ago he taught me how to lace bicycle wheels, but I was about 5 times slower building my wheel than his 90 year old father who helped build them for the business.

Just returned to Nashville, Tn via the Salem BMW rally and a ride to Vancouver Island. Incredible place! Traveled the same bridge outside of Renfrew, will return for another visit.
