Or this one. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I bought an Airhead, but the idea of K's resonates strongly with me. Hard to see if the red is faded, though. Color balance is a little weird.

Looks like Marakesh Red to me. Doesn't look too faded. A little cleaner wax and, aside from the scratch on the right lower, will "buff right out."

Also, some P&S cameras have trouble capturing reds well.

Not too bad of a deal with those low miles.

Man, apparently Chicago area is just crawling with K's. I might need to go pick up my wife by the ankles and see if I can shake any money out.

One owner, upgraded suspension and luggage. Has a couple small issues for negotiating leverage. Go get 'er.

Magic K

I have an 88 K75C. If I were in the market for a K, I would seriously consider that 95 K75S.

Depends upon what you plan to do with it. The S is somewhat of a fairweather bike given the small windscreen and lack of leg/knee protection from the elements. If you're going to do more hard core LD touring where weather can be a factor then a K75RT is better.

For city riding, nakeds or Cs are fine.

JMHO.

If you were on the other side of the country, I'd suggest a local k75 I checked out that starts perfectly, rides great, but needs a new driveshaft (it just makes some noise) for like $750 at a bike salvage dealership.

Here's one from IBMWR>Org

Nice rare K75S in good condition for its age. 40,000 miles, new clutch and fresh oil change. Good tires. Includes BMW bags. Some minor chips and very small dings in tank. Runs and rides good.

When did a K75S become "rare?"

Hey More_Miles, you should try and find a good specimen down in the SE US coincidental to the Old's Cool Fall Rally. Do a fly and ride to get it home.

I agree with the above price point advice, too. Off and on I've considered finding a nice K75, and prices seem to match the suggestions in this thread.

Unfortunately not this year Mark... There is always the spring fling though! I might enlist your aide to put eyes on as it were!

As an aside, while I appreciate all the links to the lovely K's for sale, I'm still in the research/gathering data phase. That, and trying to find cheap air fare!

BMW flying brick - Magic price point?

Solo,

"K75S 1990 Nice rare K75S in good condition for its age. 40,000 miles, new clutch"

A K75 with an accurate 40,000 miles is just a baby but the "new clutch" is a red flag.

I have 88,000 plus miles on my K and the clutch is no where near needing replaced!

Dan
